Privacy Policy

A referral does not guarantee an interview, job, offer, selection, or response from the company.

1. Introduction

FindMyReferral ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your choices. It applies to findmyreferral.com, our applications, and related services.

By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Who we are and our role

We operate a referral marketplace connecting Hunters and verified Referrers. We process personal data as a data controller for account, verification, payment, and Platform operations. Payment processing is handled by Razorpay under their privacy terms. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing.

3. Data we collect

Account and identity: personal email, OTP verification records, name, profile details, role (Hunter or Referrer), session and authentication data.

Referrer verification: corporate/work email, company name, job title, department, experience, LinkedIn URL, payout details (bank/UPI for withdrawals), admin review notes, verification status.

Hunter and request data: job title, company, job link, job ID, location, skills, messages, offered fee, deadlines, request status, ratings and reviews.

Communications: in-platform chat messages, system messages, read receipts, dispute messages, and support correspondence.

Files: resumes (PDF, DOC, DOCX), referral proof (images/documents), and other uploads you choose to share within size limits.

Payment and financial: Razorpay order and payment IDs, transaction amounts, commission, ledger entries, withdrawal requests, refund records — we do not store full card numbers; Razorpay processes card/UPI/netbanking data.

Technical and usage: IP address, device/browser type, log data, cookies, and product analytics (e.g., PostHog, Google Analytics where enabled) to improve security and service quality.

4. How we collect data

We collect data when you register or log in (email OTP), complete onboarding, submit verification, create or respond to referral requests, pay through Razorpay, use chat, upload files, raise disputes, contact support, or interact with our site. We also receive payment confirmations from Razorpay webhooks and may record admin actions in audit logs.

5. How we use data

We use personal data to: create and secure accounts; verify Referrer employment; display anonymous Referrer profiles to Hunters; match Hunters with Referrers; process payments and internal earnings ledgers; unlock chat after payment; store and deliver files; send service notifications (OTP, request updates, payment status, proof submitted, dispute updates, withdrawal status); resolve disputes and process refunds; approve withdrawals; compute ratings and marketplace metrics; prevent fraud and enforce policies; comply with legal obligations; and improve the Platform.

We may send transactional emails from noreply@findmyreferral.com. Marketing emails, if any, will include opt-out options where required.

6. How we share data

We share data only as needed to operate the Platform:

• Other users: Hunters and Referrers see information required for an active request (e.g., job details, messages, resumes after payment, proof). Referrer public profiles remain anonymous until appropriate.

• Service providers: Supabase (database, auth, storage, realtime), Razorpay (payments), Vercel (hosting), email delivery (SMTP), and analytics providers (PostHog, Google Analytics) under contractual safeguards.

• Admin and support: authorized staff access verification records, disputes, payment history, and files when needed for trust, safety, and resolution.

• Legal: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and Platform integrity.

We do not sell personal information. We do not make Hunter resumes publicly accessible.

7. Anonymous Referrer profiles and Hunter privacy

Before and during discovery, Hunters see Referrer profiles without real name, personal email, corporate email, phone, LinkedIn URL, exact internal team, employee ID, or bank details. Admin sees full verification data for approval and dispute handling. This balances Referrer privacy with marketplace trust.

Hunters' resumes contain sensitive information (contact details, work history, education, sometimes salary). Resumes are stored in private storage with signed, time-limited download URLs — never in public buckets.

8. File storage, resume access, and retention

Uploaded files (resumes, proof, attachments) are stored in private cloud storage with access controls. Resume access for Referrers is tied to active referral requests. Resume files and related sensitive uploads are retained for up to 30 days after upload or until the related request is closed, whichever is sooner, unless retention is extended for an open dispute, legal hold, or admin investigation.

After the retention period, files may be automatically deleted. Payment, dispute, and audit records may be kept longer as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance. See our Data Retention Policy and Data Deletion Policy for more detail.

9. Chat messages and dispute records

Chat messages are stored to provide the service, show system updates (payment completed, proof submitted, etc.), and resolve disputes. Admin may access chat and uploaded files during dispute review or support. Dispute records, including reasons and admin decisions, are retained for marketplace integrity and legal compliance.

10. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication and security. Where enabled, we use product analytics (PostHog) and Google Analytics to understand usage patterns, conversion, and marketplace health (e.g., signup funnels, request completion). Analytics data is generally aggregated or pseudonymized. You may control cookies through browser settings; disabling essential cookies may limit Platform functionality.

11. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Row Level Security on database tables so users access only permitted records, private file storage, server-side payment verification, webhook validation, audit logging for sensitive admin actions, and access restrictions for verification and dispute data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong email account and report suspected unauthorized access to support@findmyreferral.com.

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@findmyreferral.com with your account email and request details. We may verify identity before responding.

You may update profile information in your account settings where available. You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails. Deletion requests are subject to legal, payment, dispute, and fraud-prevention retention requirements — we may retain records we must keep by law or for legitimate business purposes.

13. Children

The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact support@findmyreferral.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. International users

FindMyReferral is operated from India. If you access the Platform from other regions, your data may be processed in India and where our service providers operate. By using the Platform, you consent to transfer and processing as described here, subject to applicable law.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with an updated date and, for material changes, provide notice by email or in-app message where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
